Edward William Cashier, Jr. age 53 of Plano, Texas passed away on April 21, 2009 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, devoted sons and family members. He was born August 14, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward William and Dorothy (Ogorzelec) Cashier. He graduated from St. Patrick High School in Chicago in 1973 and attended University of Chicago. On September 10, 1977 he married Catherine (Katie) Zechmeister in Chicago, Illinois. He was a resident of Plano, Texas since 1990 and a longtime employee of Perot Systems and Bankers Life & Casualty. He was a Data Management / Net Back up Specialist for Perot Systems. Edward was Treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 181 – Circle 10 Counsel until 2002. He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Katie) Cashier of Plano, Texas; sons, Nicholas Cashier and John Cashier of Plano, Texas; mother Dorothy Cashier of Springfield, Missouri; sisters, Diane McGoldrick and husband Terry of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois and Laura Cashier and Jim Giorgi of Mt. Prospect, Illinois; brother, James Cashier of Springfield, Missouri; sister-in-law Helen Zechmeister of Arlington Heights, Illinois: best friend Robert DeBartolo of Des Plaines, Illinois; numerous friends in the Chicagoland area and in Texas and co-workers . He was preceded in death by his father, Edward William Cashier, Sr. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the America Lung Association. A Wall of Remembrance has been created in Ed’s memory for his family, friends and co-workers.
