IN LOVING MEMORY

Edna Ella Owens

Jun 01 1911 - May 09 2004

Mrs. Edna Ella Owens, age 92, of Celina, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2004, after spending the last few days surrounded by those dearest to her. Edna was born to Frank and Minnie Usry on June 20, 1911, in Altoga, Texas. The family later moved to Celina, Texas, where she lived most of her life. Edna placed her love and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at a very young age. She was a homemaker and a wonderful seamstress. As a young girl she made her own dresses from her patterns, a talent she passed on to her daughters. She was most proud of her three girls, Ruby Standifer of Princeton, Texas, Barbara Cross (James) of Austin, Texas, and Charlsie Hernandez (Larry) of Princeton, Texas. “Nannie” will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Jim Stafford (Beth) of Princeton, Texas, Linda Braswell (Randy) of Princeton, Texas, Terry and Jerry Kirby of Dallas, Texas, Mark Kirby (Cindy) of The Colony, Texas, Mike Cross (Monna) of Bloomington, Illinois, Kassaundra Cross of Austin, Texas, Teddy Southerland of Dallas, Texas, and Melva Davis (Kyle) of Little Elm, Texas. Nannie was so thankful to have lived long enough to be a part of her great-grandchildren’s lives. They are Jasha and Rylee Braswell, Michael and Michelle Cross, Kyra, Casey and Emilee Davis and Justin Kirby. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ermyne Strayhorn, a brother Leland Usry and infant great-granddaughter Amanda Kirby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Mark Kirby and James Cross officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
