Edna Kathryn (Leach) Bolin of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 26, 2016 at the age of 96.  She was born on April 3, 1920 to E.L. and Kathleen (Bell) Leach in Allen, Texas.  Edna graduated from Allen High School in 1937 and attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.  She married W. Perry Bolin on July 1, 1940 in Allen, Texas at the home of her parents.

With the exception of a few years in California during World War II, Perry and Edna lived all of their lives in Collin County.  Through the years they owned and operated grocery stores, Mobil service stations, and Bolin Hereford Ranch in Allen and Plano, Bolin Oil Co., and Bolin Wildlife Museum in McKinney.

Edna was a true partner to Perry working as bookkeeper for their businesses and other ventures.  They loved to travel and together made many wonderful trips throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Africa and other places around the world.  Even after Perry’s death, she continued her love for travel and made trips with dear friends.

Edna was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney since 1957 where she was a member of the Naomi Class and for many years sang in the choir.  She was also a long time member of En Ami Club, Wednesday Book Review Club and Eldorado Country Club Ladies Association.

Edna was an independent woman with a strong faith in the Lord and a quiet, gentle spirit.  Her family was her greatest love and source of pride.  Edna grew up an only child, but was blessed with a vast extended family of aunts, uncles, and lots of Leach and Bell family cousins.  She and Perry were also blessed to have many wonderful friends through the years.  Her life was long and full of blessings.

Edna is survived by son, Perry N. Bolin and wife Patsy of Plano; daughter, Kathy Hallman and husband Jim of Cleburne; grandchildren, Blake Bolin and wife Jennifer of Frisco, Tara Winchester and husband Chris of Ft. Worth, Clay Bolin and wife Kelli of McKinney; Kathryn Hallman Hall and husband Jay of Frisco, Andrew Bolin and wife Nina of Lewisville, James Hallman and wife Micah of Cleburne, and Laura Beth Hallman of Amarillo; great-grandchildren, Nick, Ally, Will, Elizabeth, Sarah, Caroline, Carina and Bobby Bolin, Grayson, Ford and Wilson Winchester, and James Luccas Hallman.
