Edith R. Cotham Vinson

Funeral Services for Mrs. Edith R. Cotham Vinson, 90 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Bailey. Brother Charles Wrenn and Brother Glynn Tyson will officiate. Burial will be in the Randolph Lindsey Cemetery at Randolph. Family visitation will be Wednesday May 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Bailey prior to service time.

Mrs. Vinson was born January 2, 1923 at Savoy, Texas. Her parents were J.D. and Ada Cotham. She married W.T. Vinson January 19, 1946 at Savoy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bailey, Texas, worked as a seamstress and volunteered at the SNAP Center in Leonard. She passed away Monday May 27, 2013 at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: David and Vickie Vinson of Leonard; her daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley and Joe Gilbert of Leonard and Nancy and Terry Pettit of Whitewright; her sisters: Kathleen Davis of Plano; Lora Davis of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Virginia Turbyfill of Bonham; her 5 grandchildren: Anthony Gilbert, Amy Simpson, Nathan Pettit, Chaley Pettit and Will Pettit; her 4 great-grandchildren: Coleman Gilbert, Travis Gilbert, Laura Simpson and Aiden Pettit.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. Cotham and Clotho Cotham, and a sister, Billie Jo Lyles.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bailey or the Randolph Lindsey Cemetery Association.
