Edith Mills Roberts, age 74, of McKinney, Texas passed away December 16, 2011. She was born July 16, 1937 in Altoga, Texas to Joe Bailey Mills and Cora E. (Green) Mills. On July 2, 1955 she married Charles R. Roberts. She was a member of Waddill Street Baptist Church. Edith grew up in McKinney and graduated from Boyd High School in 1955. She worked for many years at TI and then later for Fisher Controls. Her favorite job was being a sales clerk for Fabrific and Wal-Mart in McKinney, as the “May I help you” clerk. The things in life Edith most treasured were her marriage, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, cooking and sewing. She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Roberts of McKinney, Texas; son, Ray Keith Roberts and wife, Tammy of Van Alstyne, Texas; daughter, Suzanne Ward and husband, Billy of Blue Ridge, Texas; grandsons, Joshua Roberts and wife, Angela of North Richland Hills, Texas, Christopher Taylor of Plano, Texas and Waylon Ward of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Summer Roberts of Van Alstyne, Texas; great-grandson, Zachary Roberts of North Richland Hills, Texas; brothers, Harold “Curly” Mills and wife, Dorothy of Plano, Texas, Jerry Mills and wife, Ellen of Carrollton, Texas and Dickie Mills of Little Elm, Texas; sisters, Jeanie Davis and husband, Floyd of Telephone, Texas, Linda Farquhar of Denton, Texas and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Cora Mills; grandson, Colton Taylor; niece, Marsha Kennedy; brothers, Royal Mills, Charles “Dober” Mills and sister, Wanda Conner. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Brother Woody Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
