Funeral services for Edith Lou McNeil Cummings, 85 year old Trenton resident, are scheduled for Friday December 5, 2008 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Rev. Steve Holland will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Friday December 5th. Burial will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery at Savoy, Texas. Mrs. Cummings was born February 5, 1923 at Melissa, Texas. Her parents were John Organ and Amanda Marie Peters McNeil. She married Arce Cummings November 8, 1943 at Bonham, Texas. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Trenton and a former member of the Bonham Historical Society. She passed away Tues. December 2, 2008 at the Red River Region Hospital at Bonham. She is survived by her daughter: Arlene Cummings of Trenton, Texas; her sister: Evelyn Smith of Wolfe City, Texas; her brother: James Duward McNeil of Gainesville, Texas and 10 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons (Arce Eugene Cummings and Alan Joe Cummings), a sister (Florence Sutherland and two brothers (Forest McNeil and Raymond McNeil). Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
