Edith Kayser Jester

Edith Kayser Jester of Plano, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 5, 2014 at the age of 78.  She was born September 20, 1935 to Louis Christian Kayser Senior and Lou Vera (Dreher) Kayser in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She graduated from North Little Rock High School and then married Herman Douglas (Doug) Jester in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 26, 1953.  They moved to Whitewright Texas in 1965 and lived there for over 34 years. Edith was a member of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer with the Whitewright Ambulance Service. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She and Doug owned and managed Westside Mobil Home Park in Whitewright. She worked at Texas Instruments in Dallas and then as a bookkeeper for many years for Dairy Queen Enterprises in Whitewright. Edith wrote articles for the Whitewright Sun, as well as a book about Whitewright history.

She is survived by her son, William (Bill) Douglas Jester and wife Randa of Plano, Texas; daughter, Melinda Jester Sealey and husband David also of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal Gale Jester McDonald and husband Rodger of Maud, Texas, Michael David Sealey of Dallas, Texas, Jennifer Sealey Wren and husband Clint of Melissa, Texas, Joshua David Sealey of Plano, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jacob Allen McDonald of Maud, Texas, Shelby Gale McDonald, Macey Shae McDonald of Maud, Texas, Brody Michael Wren of Melissa, Texas, Brinlee Marie Wren of Melissa, Texas, Callie Faith Mounger of McKinney, Texas; sister, Miriam Coulehan and husband Johnny of Silver Spring, Maryland; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Douglas Jester; sister, Vivian Bodishbaugh; brother, Louis Christian Kayser Junior; grandson, Scotty William Jester; and granddaughter, Sarah Alice Jester Mounger.

Memorial service for Edith’s family and friends will be held at the Church of Christ in Whitewright Texas on Saturday, June 14 at 4:00 pm.
