IN LOVING MEMORY

Edgar Arturo Carvajal

May 26 1986 - Sep 22 2009

Edgar Arturo Carvajal, age 23 of Plano, TX, lost his life to brain cancer on Tuesday September 22, 2009. He is survived by his mother Liliana Carvajal Castro, stepfather Raphael Castro, stepsister Betsy Castro and all his relatives and friends. Arturito, his nickname by family members, loved Jesus Christ and had a deep-rooted faith in His gospel. Arturito was ready to dedicate 2 full years of his life to serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2006. Little did any of us know that Heavenly Father would call him to serve a different type of mission; one he would serve beyond the veil. He was born in Colombia on May 26, 1986 and later moved to The United States in 1994. He enjoyed making people laugh and was well known by his trademark-smile. He was a kind-hearted and patient young man who loved his mom and was proud to be her only son, her only child. “I will not doubt, I will not fear; God’s love and strength are always near. His promised gift helps me to find, an inner strength and peace of mind. . . His Spirit guides; his love assures that fear departs when faith endures.” (Hymns, p128) We love you Arturito. Till we meet again. We want to express our gratitude to countless individuals including Mr. Michael Phillips and his family. We also would like to thank the following individuals for providing excellent healthcare and love throughout Arturito’s battle with the tumor: Dr. Fink, Vanessa and staff, Dr. Edmonds and staff, Dr. Samsula; Dr. Freeman, Dr. Chen, Dr. Anthony, Medical Center of Plano, Baylor Hospital of Dallas and Plano, Gail Bloom, Donna Mckinley, Friends, and Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday September 26, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2401 Legacy Drive, Plano, TX 75023. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, TX. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm, Friday September 25, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at 2525 North Central Expressway Allen, TX.
