Eddie "Ed" Marc Stewart

Eddie “Ed” Marc Stewart, age 69, of Plano, Texas, passed away May 25, 2015. Ed was born November 13, 1945, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to James Columbus and Glenna Jo (Sparks) Stewart. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Ed married Jill Elliston on January 25, 1986, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was employed with Browning Oil as Vice President of the land department for twenty years. Ed was a committed family man and provided opportunities through education and experience for his family. He and Jill’s life adventure together started with their honeymoon to St. Thomas and St. Croix thirty years ago. Their tradition continued with family vacations to Alaska, Beliz, Cayman Islands, among many others. Ed was an avid outdoorsman participating in hiking, camping, and exploring the wilderness with family and friends. His athletic accomplishments include ten marathons, triathlons, and long distance bicycle racing events. Another great joy of Ed’s was frequent rides on his Harley. He was a member of numerous organizations including Glen Eagle Country Club, Panther Club Motorcycle Club, National Rifle Association, American Association of Professional Landmen, and the Dallas Association of Professional Landmen.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Elliston Stewart of Plano, Texas; son; Preston Edward Stewart of Plano, Texas; daughter, Melissa Glennon Stewart, also of Plano; and brother James Craig Stewart of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May, 30, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. A remembrance gathering will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials  may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas or the Carcinoid Foundation.
