Ed Lynge

Ed Lynge, age 80, of Allen, Texas passed away August 4, 2012 after a short illness. He was born April 25, 1932 in Allen, Texas to Oscar Edgar Lynge and Tommie (Whisenant) Lynge. Ed graduated from McKinney High School in 1950 and from SMU in 1954. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1957, where he flew jets and helicopters. He served in Saudi Arabia for one year and met his wife, Jane Dunn, a former U.S. Air Force Nurse. On July 5, 1958 he married Jane in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania. Ed owned and operated Allen Lumber Company, previously Lynge and Stacy Lumber and Hardware from 1958-1998. He was a charter member of the Allen Lions Club and a past member of the Allen Rotary Club. Ed was also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane Frances Lynge of Allen, Texas; sons, Eddie Lynge and wife, Janelle of Haslet, Texas, Tom Lynge and wife, Caressa of Duncanville, Texas; daughters, Anne Halderman of Plano, Texas, Tricia Musslewhite and husband, Clay of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Bobby, Kara, Daniel, Emily and Olivia; sister, Jo Roberts of Edinburgh, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Tommie Lynge; sisters, Patsy Lynge, Lillian Hefner and Margaret Wyneken.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
