Earl Edward Sawyer, age 81 of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 14, 2010 in McKinney. He was born on February 8, 1929 in Denison, Texas to Marvin Holloway and Vernon Oma (Mooney) Sawyer. Earl raised his family in Irving, Texas retiring to his farm in Wills Point, Texas in 1984. He spent the last four years of his life in McKinney, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, sisters, Hester Sawyer, Melba Sawyer, Beatrice Board Sawyer and brothers, James, Archie, Hubert and Frank Sawyer. Earl was a member of the Dallas Police Department of thirty years from 1954 until 1984 where he was known as “Double E” by his fellow officers. He was promoted to Detective in the early 60s and retired as a Sergeant. Earl was a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F. & A.M. of East Dallas No. 1200. Earl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eva Nell (Adams) Sawyer; children, Larry Sawyer and wife, Joan of Frisco, Texas, Linda Sawyer Pittman and husband, Charlie of Frisco, Texas, Tony Sawyer of Frisco, Texas, Pat Sawyer and his wife, Kim of Pensacola, Florida and Jeana Sawyer Williams and her husband, Ken of Frisco, Texas; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank the staff of Emeritus of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas, Total Patient Care and Hospice Plus for the love and care given to our father. He loved you all dearly. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco beginning at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jason Adams officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Nevill’s Chapel Cemetery in Nevill’s Chapel, Texas.
