Mr. Earl H. Gidney, age 82, a long time resident of McKinney, Texas passed away July 19, 2004, in Bonham, Texas. He was born January 3, 1922, in Bonham to Jim and Nancy Ellen (Franklin) Gidney. On January 3, 1978, he married Peggy Lett in McKinney. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Gidney worked for the Veteran’s Administration. He was a member of the VFW and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Danny Earl and Kathleen Gidney of Melissa, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Diane and Cecil Williams of Princeton, Texas; stepdaughters, Carol Kindle of Westminster, Texas and Leslie Mindez of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Tammy Godwin and Vicky Roberts and great-grandchildren, Jake Roberts, Brayton and Channing Godwin; grandchildren, Sonja Gidney, Charissa Parrish and Lacey Gidney, and great grandchildren, Kiarra Parrish, Mackenzie Gidney and Makayla Gidney; and sister, Nannie Mae Moore of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents; 5 brothers; 2 sisters; and 1 grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
