E. Laverne Case Hardin

E. Laverne (Case) Hardin passed away in her home on May 12, 2010. Laverne was devoted to her family and enjoyed an especially close bond with her sisters, often going out to lunch and playing dominoes. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone and had such a good, loving heart. She had a strong work ethic and was an exemplary employee at Fisher Control, where she was a foreman for many years, eventually retiring from there. She enjoyed the rare commodity of loving her job. While there, she made many lasting friendships and will be missed by all who knew her. After retirement, she spent time enjoying the company of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Byron Hardin of McKinney and Jesse Holt of Princeton, daughter, Sandra of Dallas, four sisters, Hazel Free, Dorothy Franklin, Glenna Moorhead all of McKinney, Pat Coleman of Oregon and one brother, Melvin Case of Bowie, grandchildren, Nick Hardin, Kevin Scoggins and wife, Christie, Kristin Hardin, Jackie Ray Gaulden, and Cheryl Vaughn, great-grandchildren, Crimson Moerbe, Delaney Scoggins, John Simmons, Christian Simmons, Samantha Hill, and Zak Moody. Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, Odie B Case and Dovie Lee Caton, one sister, Donnie Pittman, and four brothers, Leon, Alvin, Keith and Kenneth. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. A private graveside service will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
