Dr. Clarence L. Booher

Dr. Clarence L. Booher, a retired physician of Bonham, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2009. He was 80. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, January 9, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas with Rev. W. C. Beasley officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Dr. Booher received his pre-medical education at Odessa Junior College and his Bachelor of Science degree from Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri. He then graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1954. He completed his internship at Laughlin Hospital in 1955. He then moved to Bloomington, Texas where he was a Family Practice physician from 1955 to 1960. He was a surgical resident from 1960 to 1963. He practiced surgery in Houston, Texas, St. Petersburg and Pompano Beach, Florida and Stanton, Michigan. Dr. Booher moved to Bonham, Texas in 1973 where he was in private practice as a general surgeon. He retired from private practice and went to work for the Sam Rayburn Memorial V.A. Hospital in 1978 where he practiced general surgery for 16 years. He retired from the V. A. Hospital in 1994. Dr. Booher was a life member of TOMA and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He was also a member in good standing of the American Osteopathic Association. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara Booher, his sons, Stephen and Ted Booher, daughter in-law Lorrie Booher, granddaughters Misty and Angela and their spouses, and a great granddaughter, Addison DeLaney, his sisters, Kathryn and Ginger and their families, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto L. and Vergie Booher and brothers, Isaac and Patrick Booher.
