Dorthy Coffey Rattan, age 93, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 29, 2014, in McKinney. Dorthy was born July 10, 1920, in McKinney, Texas, to Fred Sam and Helen (Gerrish) Coffey.
She is survived by her daughters, Helen Coleman and husband, Glenn of McKinney, Texas and Nancy Malone and husband, Mike, also of McKinney; grandchildren, Robert Coleman of McKinney, Texas, Angela VanSteeter of Pottsboro, Texas, and Shelley Malone Loving, also of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Sterling Scott and Stiles Scott, both of McKinney, Texas, Ted Coleman and Elizabeth Coleman, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tristen VanSteeter and Hayden VanSteeter, both of Pottsboro, Texas; and nieces, Clara Roberson of Mexia, Texas and Freda Kendall of Allen, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen Coffey, husband, Jack Rattan, and twin sister, Dorris Lowry.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2014, at First Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas with Rev. Randy Morlan officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
