Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Walton Wood, 81 year old Celeste resident, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday December 28, 2012 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Pastor Jim Sherwin will officiate. There will be a Catholic Graveside Service at 12:30 p.m. Friday December 28, 2012 at the Leonard Cemetery. Father Paul Weinberger will officiate. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday December 27, 2012 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.
Mrs. Wood was born July 9, 1931 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her parents were Lester E. and Katherine H. Neyer Walton. She married Melborn Cecil Wood October 21, 1950 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a L.V.N., a member of St. William’s Catholic Church in Greenville and worked as a volunteer Pink Lady at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville for about 5 years. She enjoyed hydrobics at the Y in Greenville and her grandchildren and her dogs were the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Johnnie Robinson of Celeste; her son and daughter-in-law: Larry Don and Aimee Wood of Celeste; her son-in-law: Scott Wiseman of Garland; her grandchildren: John and Theresa Robinson, Jr. of Celeste, Katie and Joey Wiseman of Garland; Amber, Branden and Cloe Wood of Celeste; her great-grandson: Robert G. Robinson of Celeste; her sisters and brother: Betty Worth and Mary Coody of Shawnee, OK and Bill Walton of Yukon, OK. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Tina Wiseman; her granddaughter: Tera Robinson and her brothers and sisters: Lester Walton, Edward Walton, Helen Skinner and Jackie Ward.
