Dorothy Fay Smith, age 84, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away April 4, 2011, in McKinney, Texas. Dorothy was born October 27, 1926, in Dorchester, Texas, to Carl and Birdie Smith. She married Willie Smith on February 21, 1946, in Rockwall, Texas. Dorothy raised Arabian horses for twenty years. She was a charter member of Walnut Hill United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by her daughter, Mitzi Smith and Larry Reinert of McKinney, Texas; and three sisters, Maudie Dycus and husband, Claude of Farmers Branch, Texas, Aleta Jones of Gunter, Texas, and Regina Peebles also of Gunter, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Smith in July of 1995 and brother, Roy Lee Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Dr. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
