Doris Hathaway Thompson, 97, formerly of Hagerstown MD, passed away Sunday March 15, 2015 at her home in Plano TX. She was born January 5, 1918, in Beaver Dam WI; she was the daughter of the late Warner and Mable (Smith) Hathaway. She was the wife of the late Lionel Drew Thompson.
Doris was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a member of the American Association of University Women. She played violin for the symphony in Hagerstown for many years. She was a life master bridge player and directed the duplicate bridge game at Fountain Head Country Club. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hagerstown
She is survived by her sons, David Thompson of Plano, TX; Stephen Thompson of Anderson, SC; and Mark Thompson of Petoskey, MI. She is also survived by her sister Betty Livingston of McKinney, TX; and three grandchildren, Heather Thompson of Anderson, SC, Stephen Thompson of Westminster, MD, Julie Thompson of Circle Pines, MN.
