Doris Imogene Mayfield, age 93, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on December 7, 2011. She was born August 26, 1918, in Honey Grove, Texas, to Sidney and Nettie (Dyess) McClain. On July 21, 1940, Doris married Harold Mayfield in Bonham, Texas. Mrs. Mayfield was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney. She was a member and past President of the Edelweiss/Tyrolese Club. Other clubs which she enjoyed for many years were the Gaslighters and the Wednesday Book Review Clubs. Doris was also an enthusiastic bridge player and loved to travel with her friends. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Wysong and husband Dr. Brad of McKinney, Linda Russell and husband David of North Carolina; grandchildren, Matt and Chad Russell of North Carolina, Philip Wysong of McKinney, and Rachel Haefliger of Dallas, Texas; eight great-grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Harold Mayfield. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Dallas Chapter, 4144 North Central Expressway, Suite 750, Dallas, Texas 75204 and the First Baptist Church, 1615 W. Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
