Doris Ruth Johnson has passed away at her home peacefully on the evening of May 6, 2010 to go and meet her Lord. Doris Ruth was born in Detroit, Michigan to William John and Gertrude Eleanor (Copeland) Miller on January 3, 1926. Doris was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She was active in her church community and enjoyed calling on her nursing home patients. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Johnson; parents, William and Gertrude Miller; son, Johnny Mack and sister, Eunice Gertrude Artress. Doris is survived by her brother-in-law, Glenn A. Artress of Gaylord, Michigan; three nieces, Glennda Bush and husband, Richard and their family of Howard City, Michigan, Hope Kirt and husband, William and their family of Gaylord, Michigan, Violet Maria Deemer and husband, William and their family of Gaylord, Michigan; nephew, William Artress and wife, Helen and their family of Kalkaska, Michigan. Doris is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, along with many friends from her church and her neighborhood. Doris always enjoyed going and visiting those who were living in the nursing homes within her community. Doris will be greatly missed by all of us. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2010 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, McKinney, Texas with Rev. Dan Tutwiler and Rev. Craig Dubois officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Sunday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
