Doris Virginia Felty of Arlington, Texas passed away March 21, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born August 2, 1925 to Warren Lillard Charles and Constance Irene (Burgess) Charles in Bristow, Oklahoma. Doris worked as a telephone operator for the Oklahoma University in Norman Oklahoma from 1946-1948. She was a civilian contractor who served her country proudly during WWII where she was known as “Rosie the Riveter” at the Douglas Plant on the A26 Bombers. Doris continued her service as a nurse assistant at the VA Hospital in Dallas from 1969-1993. She enjoyed painting, sewing and traveling. Doris greatest love was her family. She will be remembered for her ability to remember ones birthday past and present.

Doris is survived by her sons, Glenn M. White, Jr. and wife Robin of Arlington, Texas, Mark A. White and wife Dena of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Stuart A. White and wife Sandra of Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren, Marshall White, Elizabeth White, Cody White, Teresa Sylvester and husband Kelly, and Ayla Lee and husband Michael; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas Felty, brothers, and sisters.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas with Rev. Johnny Caster officiating. Interment is to following at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
