Donnie Ray Ketron

Mr. Donnie Ray Ketron of Farmersville, Texas, passed away June 2, 2014, at his residence. He was born Jan. 25, 1945, in Greenville, the son of William Barker and Daphna Coker Ketron. He was a retired foreman for North Texas Municipal Water District. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmersville. Donnie served the city of Farmersville as a past city councilman, Farmersville Volunteer Fire Department, and was awarded the Harry Cameron Citizen of the Year award and was former owner of Donnie’s K and K  convenience store for many years.

He is survived by his children, Darrell Ray Ketron and daughter Heather Ketron, both of Farmersville; a granddaughter, Brandi Ketron and husband James of Farmersville; great-grandchildren Kylee Ketron and Journey Smith, both of Farmersville; and ex-wife Sandie Ketron of Fate.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Barker Ketron III;  his parents, Bill and Daphna Ketron; one brother, Kenneth Ketron; and one sister, Billie Sockwell. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the First Baptist Church in Farmersville with Rev. Rick Ballard officiating. Interment will be in the Merit Cemetery in Merit. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hurst Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
