Donald Vernon Lippold

Mr. Donald Vernon Lippold, age 69, of Frisco, Texas passed away May 30, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on March 17, 1940, in Falls City, Nebraska to Vernon and Lylith (Dragoo) Lippold. He grew up in Nebraska and attended Creighton University and the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he earned his bachelors degree. He later continued his education earning a masters degree in special education. On February 4, 1980, he married Patricia Hinrichs in Tacoma, Washington. Donald was pharmaceutical representative for Merck for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm, and retired as a Command Sergeant Major. Donald was highly intelligent and witty. He was an avid hunter, photographer and a veracious reader, as well as a wine enthusiast. Most of all, Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Lippold of Frisco; daughters, Jeri Cozens of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Michelle Lippold of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren; brothers, Terry Lippold and his wife, Connie of Parker, Colorado and Jim Lippold and his wife, Vicki of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a host of other loving family and friends. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their conveniences on Thursday, June 4, 2009, to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday an hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice in Donald’s name. Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same.
