Don Wessinger

Don Wessinger, age 74, of Frisco, Texas passed away at home, July 12, 2012, after a brave but short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born May 6, 1938 in Houston, Texas to Leland Albert Wessinger and Vonnie Dee (Wilkins) Wessinger. Don was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, where he was active in his church. He was dedicated to his family and passionate about his career. Don began his career in 1956 as a draftsman and project manager for window wall and curtainwall projects. After attending Texas A&M University, he eventually became owner and president of Tejas Architectural Inc. and Stone Panels Inc., from 1978 to 1992. Don developed and patented a stone veneer product which was sold worldwide. He served as principal consultant for building envelope services for Childress Engineering Services, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Lauretta Wessinger of Frisco, Texas; sons, Gary Wessinger and wife, Donna of Palmer, Texas, Mike Wessinger of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brother, Rick Wessinger and wife, Martha of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Wessinger, Johnathan Wessinger, J.D. Wessinger, Lindsay Wessinger; Kendall Hofmann and Christopher Hofmann; great-granddaughter, Emma Autry and a host of nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2012 at Prestonwood Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Jeffrey and Rev. Jeff Young officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Children’s Ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church, www.prestonwood.org.
