Don Hill of McKinney, Texas passed away July 21, 2014 at the age of 71. He was born March 18, 1943 to Eugene Hill and Ruby Louise (Keller) Hill in McKinney, Texas. Don married Connie Cates on September 2, 1961 in Plano, Texas. He was a native of McKinney and was valued in the community. He operated Hill’s Paint and Body with his brothers and son for over thirty years. Don had a passion for gardening and animals. His backyard was his paradise. Don loved his family and he was very loyal and protective of them all. He enjoyed being with his grandkids. There wasn’t a kid he came in contact with that didn’t walk away loving him. Don was very charismatic and lived the simple life.
He is survived by wife Connie Hill of McKinney, Texas; sons, Don H. Hill, Jr. and wife Melissa of McKinney, Texas and Roger Hill and wife Sonya of Denton, Texas; daughters, Lisa K. Vaughan and husband Vince of McKinney, Texas and Susie Hill-Whitson of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Courtney Vaughan, Tiffani Hinkle and husband Andy, Taylor Vaughan, Victoria Vaughan, Kayla Michelle Hill, Charity Faithe Whitson, Chesnee Nichole Whitson, Nathaniel Vaughan, Brian-Don Chase Crump, Irina Hill, and Alexa Hill; great-grandsons, Bentley Vaughan and Frank Eli Hinkle; brothers, Jimmy Ray Hill and Mitchell Glen Hill and wife Vickey all of Chambersville, Texas; sisters, Melba Scalf and husband Kenneth, Debbie Gonzales and his niece Chelsea all of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marion Hill.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
