Don G. Dobbs, age 72, of Fairview, Texas passed away January 3, 2012. He was born August 5, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Gaston and Mary Katherine (Pennington) Dobbs. On September 8, 1978, Don married Gina (Santarelli) Skorpil in Oklahoma. He grew up in Oklahoma City; later his family moved to Amarillo, Texas, where he graduated high school. Don received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma University. He was a certified kitchen designer, and spent most of his working career as vice president, with Fred H. Young and Associates, where he designed cabinetry for hospitals and schools. Don loved to create and make things with his hands. His dream retirement was moving to Heritage Ranch in Fairview. Don’s hobbies included cooking, traveling, and gardening. He passionately loved his Oklahoma Sooners; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Gina Dobbs of Fairview; son, Michael Dobbs and wife Michelle; daughter, Michelle Dobbs; step-sons, Robert Skorpil and wife Melissa, Mark Skorpil and wife Tami and three grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Holland. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2012 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.
