Dolores Hargett, age 78, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 15, 2009 in McKinney. Dolores was born January 17, 1931, in McKinney to Lewis Waverly and Julia Ann (McGarrah) Young. She married Gaines “Percy” Hargett on December 26, 1955, in McKinney. Dolores was a bookkeeper and office manager for the McKinney Courier Gazette for over twenty-five years and at one point was the co-owner of the circulation department. She was an active member of Waddill Street Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her son, Cash Hargett and his wife, Teresa of McKinney, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sonya Hargett of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Dusty, Julia Ann, Lance, Nicole and Grace Hargett, LeAnne and Jerrod Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Dylan; and sister, Cynthia Jenkins and her husband, Wayne of McKinney. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Buddy Hargett, brother, Fletcher Young, half-brother, L. H. Young, sister, Francis Young, and grandson, Ian. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Woody Wilson. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friend during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
