Dillon Thompson, age 84, of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 19, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. Dillon was born March 2, 1924 in Chambersville, Texas, to Tommie Joseph and Addie Mae (Brimer) Thompson. He married Barbara Imogene Corley on August 12, 1944 in Denton, Texas. Dillon proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed with the federal government. Dillon was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church in McKinney, Texas, where he served as an elder and deacon, as well as a scout master. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Imogene Thompson of McKinney, Texas; son, Joe Kenneth Thompson and wife, Kathryn of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Tanya Alice Smith and husband Gary Don of McKinney, Texas; brother, Clint Thompson and wife, Betty of Garland, Texas; sisters, Venita Clements of Princeton, Texas, Imogene Eubanks of Irving, Texas, and Voncil Stroup and husband, Virgil of Blue Ridge, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Jodi Williams, Joe Bryan Thompson, Steve Mahnich, and Michael Mahnich; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 22, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Charles Waugh officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 P.M., Sunday evening at the funeral home.
