Diane Elizabeth Short of Plano, Texas passed away January 19, 2016 at the age of 51. She was born May 4, 1964 to Orville Louis Lind and Donna Jeanne (Gustafson) Lind in New Haven, Connecticut. Diane grew up in Massachusetts where she graduated from Chelmsford High School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts in 1982. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Rhode Island and held her CCRN for many years. Diane worked as a registered nurse in Washington, D.C. and later in Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center until 2014 when she transferred to Baylor Plano. She received the Nursing Excellence Award in 1992 and was currently nominated among the Great 100 Nurses. Diane was an avid reader and enjoyed fitness, competitive body building and spending time with her kids.
She is survived by her children, Maddy Short and Avery Short of Plano, Texas; parents, Rev. Orville and Donna Lind of Fernandina Beach, Florida; sister, Laura Culpepper of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother, Paul Lind of Tampa, Florida; several nieces and nephews; a host of other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church, 6801 Coit Road, Plano, Texas 75024.
