IN LOVING MEMORY

Diane Nelson

May 29 1948 - Aug 06 2005

Diane Nelson, born May 29, 1948, in Plano, Texas was the eldest daughter of Jack and Dois Gene Nelson. She passed away August 6, 2005 after a short but brave struggle with cancer. Diane was a descendent of the Salmons, Becks, Daffrons, and pioneering families of Plano. She grew up in the old Boggess House, which has become the Nelson Farm. She was residing there at the time of her death. She was a lifetime resident of Plano and a member of the 1966 graduating class of Plano High School. Diane was voted the “Most Wittiest” and “Best Athletic” of her graduating class. She then attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, Texas. She and her family were active members of the Old Settlers Association. Much of her life was spent farming with her father. During the past 15 years, Diane owned and operated Diane’s Cleaning Service. Her loyal customers quickly and easily became her friends. Diane was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Murphy, Texas. She is survived by her sister, Darlene Carpenter, nephews, Chett and Cade Carpenter; and numerous relatives and friends from many states, which are simply to numerous to mention. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dois Gene Nelson and her niece, Jacklyn Sloan Carpenter. We wish to thank all of Diane’s family members and friends who gave their unfailing love and support during this difficult time. Diane cherished her family and friends and dearly loved spending time with them. Her sense of humor, kindness and gentle spirit and a smile that could light up a room are gifts she gave willingly to us. She will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diane Nelson Memorial Trust Fund that will be established for the purpose of providing educational funding for the benefit of descendents of Diane Nelson. Contributions can be sent to the Inwood National Bank, 210 North Ballard, Wylie, Texas 75098.
