Delbert Ray Linard

Delbert Ray Linard of McKinney, Texas passed away April 4, 2012 at the age of 92.  He was born October 3, 1919 to Franklin Eugene and Mary Bell (Beaver) Linard, Sr. in Freeport, Ohio.  Delbert married Charlotte Ruth Burson on July 15, 1939 in New Philadelphia, Ohio.  He was a Veteran of the Navy in WWII where his ship, The USS Piedmont, was in Tokyo Harbor at the signing of the Japanese surrender.  Delbert was a life member of Elks Lodge in New Philadelphia, Ohio,  former member of Wesley Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas and a current member of First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas.  He was an avid fan of NASCAR particularly Jeff Gordon.   Above all else, Delbert was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Niuman and husband Jerry of McKinney, Texas; son, D. Gary Linard and wife Doris of New Philadelphia, Ohio; brother, Don Linard and wife Betty of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Amy Morgan and husband Dan of Plano, Texas; Michelle Patchen and husband Charlie of Richardson, Texas, Jennifer Sawey of Allen, Texas, Jeremy Niuman and wife Kristin of Nacogdoches, Texas, Scott Linard and wife Michelle of  Killeen, Texas; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.

Delbert is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ruth; parents, Franklin and Mary Linard; brothers, Ernie, Frank Jr., Jim, Bob, and Gene Linard; sister, Ethel Kutcher.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be held 1:15 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
