Deborah “Debbie” Kay McGhee Huckaby, born September 15, 1954 of Garland, Texas passed away October 27, 2004, in Richardson Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 50 years of age. Debbie graduated from Plano High School in 1973. She graduated from executive secretary school in Dallas and became a valued employee of Texas Transformer Corporation in 1974, where she became general manager of the corporation. She left in 2000 to start her own business, Crown Trophy and Awards where she was the owner and CEO, at Beltline and I-30 with her husband, Ken and daughter, Amanda. Her Crown store has won multiple awards from Crown franchise for being the top-performing store over the first 3 years. She was a participating member of ARA in the awards industry. She was a member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce. Debbie was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend to many. She was born to father, Donald (Fibber) McGhee and mother, Sue Cuffman McGhee. She was preceded in life by her father in December of 1998 and her grandparents. Survivors include husband, Ken Huckaby; daughters, Amanda and Andrea Huckaby all of Garland, Texas; sons and wives, Danny Huckaby, Gary Huckaby and wife, Angie and Steve Huckaby and wife, Phyllis; mother, Sue McGhee of Plano, Texas; sister, Pamela (Pete) Hough and husband, Alan of Waxahachie, Texas; brothers, D. Mark (Uncle Dada) McGhee and wife, Denna of Gilbert, Arizona and David McGhee and wife, Kim of Plano; step-mother, Laretta, McGhee of Garland; step-sister, Shelley Green and son, Codi Dotson; 7 nieces and nephews, Krystal McGinnis, Justin McGhee, Brad Hough, Bonham Hough, Benjamin Hough, James McGhee and Sarah McGhee; and 10 grandchildren, Monica Ruff, Brandy Nall, Lisa and Kim Huckaby, Jamie Hagen, Jeremy, Steven, Michael, Cyndell and Dray Huckaby; 4 great-grandchildren, Grace, Lexi, Reese and Jacob. Officiating as pallbearers will be Hunter Gregory, Mathew Armstrong, Justin McGhee, Bradley, Bonham and Ben Hough. Honorary pallbearers will be Codi Dotson, Steven Huckaby, Dray Huckaby, Robert McGhee (Uncle), Jeff Long, Michael Huckaby and Josh McGinnis. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Draper officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
