Deborah Blackmon Howell, age 61, of Melissa, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior September 2, 2013.  Deborah was born February 22, 1952, in Marshall, Texas, to Homer N. and Dorothy (Saxon) Blackmon. On July 1, 1989, Deborah married the love of her life Clarence “Dewey” Howell in Dallas, Texas. Debbie was a member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney, a member of the Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle and prayer circle. She was a member of Port Arthur Chapter Order of Rainbow for Girls where she served at Worthy Advisor, and a member of Port Arthur Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Debbie loved life; she cherished her husband, family and many friends. Debbie was a true friend. She treated everyone with kindness, love and respect.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence “Dewey” Howell of Melissa; sister, Dana and husband David Wilson of Granbury, Texas; nephew, Kyle Dunn and his wife Debbie of Granbury, Texas; niece, Tina Brackett of Burleson, Texas; great-nephews, Tyler Brackett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Morgan Brackett and Conner Brackett of Burleson, Texas, Stephan Dunn and wife Savannah of Rockwall, Texas; great-niece, Kylie Brackett of Burleson, Texas, June Ryan Dunn of Rockwall. Texas; cousins, Diane Rousseau of Marshall, Texas, Kay Moseley of Marshall, Texas and John Saxon of Dallas, Texas; step-daughter, Dana and husband Nick Trevino, of San Clemente, California; step-son, Steven Howell of Boise, Idaho; step-grandchildren, Ethan, Blake, Chase and Grace Howell of Boise, Idaho, Matt and John Trevino of San Clemente, California.

Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Dorothy Blackmon.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, at Algoma Cemetery in Marshall, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
