Officer Dayle Weston Hardy, age 31, of Plano, Texas, passed away July 7, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on July 16, 1975, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Dayle Lewis and Nancy Gwen (Pope) Hardy. Dayle graduated from Boyd High School in 1993 and attended Texas A&M University. Officer Hardy began his law enforcement career with the Wise County Sheriff Department, transferring to the Plano Police Department where he served in the Motorcycle Section of the Traffic Unit. He also served as Captain with the Howe Volunteer Fire Department. On June 17, 2000, Dayle married Ashlee Dawn Cate in Mansfield, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Ashlee; his daughters, Cora Elizabeth and Caitlyn Jewel; his parents, Dayle and wife Sandy Hardy of Decatur, Texas; his sister, Leslie Maynard of Springtown, Texas; his grandmothers, Cora Maxine Hardy of Ft. Worth, TX and Geraldine Barnes of Mansfield, TX; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Preceding him in death was his mother, Nancy Gwen Hardy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Prestonwood Baptist Church with Bill Paxton officiating. Interment will follow at Boyd Cemetery in Boyd, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
