David Lloyd Neary passed away on March 22, 2011 after a long illness, surrounded by the love of his family. David was preceded in death by his father Edward Neary and his mother Vera Gibson. David was born May 31, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and then obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa in. David married the love of his life, Pepena Anton Neary on December 16th, 1963 in Mansfield, Ohio and celebrated 48 wonderful years together. David held several management positions in the Oil and Gas industry throughout his career and was President of Advanced Energy Systems Inc. (AES) at the time of his passing. David’s accomplishments are numerous and his family is most proud of his passion toward reducing harmful emissions produced by power generation systems. It was for these efforts that David was awarded six U.S. patents. When not working, David enjoyed traveling with his wife to Symi, Greece, which he thought of as Heaven on Earth. Always a man of faith, his belief in God and the teachings of the Greek Orthodox religion sustained him during difficult times throughout his life. David will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. David’s kindness and selfless acts toward others knew no bounds. David is survived by his wife Pepena Anton Neary, son Christopher Neary, daughters Michelle Hagen and Pepena Weichert and her husband Trey Weichert, grandchildren Alisha and Stephanie Hagen and Lauren and Alex Weichert. Private funeral services were held at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in David Neary’s name to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas 75240.
