David Maxie, age 62, of Murphy, Texas, passed away December 27, 2013, in Plano, Texas. David was born July 27, 1951, in Zwolle, Louisiana, to Arvil and Aline (Coan) Maxie. He married Marleen Ballard on April 14, 1973, in Hobbs, New Mexico. David was an avid bass fisherman and hunter. He was baptized in Jesus Christ in June of 2013. David loved his three granddaughters dearly. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Marleen Maxie of Murphy, Texas; daughter, Angela Jackson and husband, Ty also of Murphy; son, Paul Maxie and wife, Rendi of Longview, Texas; granddaughters, Abigail, Olivia, and Sophia; sisters, Mae Chick and husband, Jerry of Big Lake, Texas, Linda Morse and husband, Billy of Malakoff, Texas, and Debra Bolen and husband, Roy of Midland, Texas; brothers, Charles Starnes and wife, Betty of Knox City, Texas, Bobby Maxie and wife, Cheryl of Garden City, Texas, and Sammy Starnes of Cody, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his second mother, Jewell Maxie, with whom he was very close.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013, at Meadows Baptist Church, 3001 Los Rios Blvd, Plano, Texas 75074. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
