David Louis Freeman of McKinney, Texas passed away June 27, 2015 at the age of 62. He was born September 8, 1952 to Louis J. and Shirley G. (Nesbit) Freeman in Wichita Falls, Texas. David married Cynthia Selvidge on July 23, 1977 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Community of McKinney, Texas. David was a mentoring coach of the Odyssey of the Mind and a long-time judge of the Plano Independent School District science fair. He also coached for the Plano Softball Association, the Plano Youth Soccer Association and the McKinney Softball Association. David was also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He and Cynthia were sponsors for the St. Gabriel’s marriage preparation program.
David is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cynthia; daughters, Cassiopeia Freeman, Cassandra Edwards and husband John, Andromeda Freeman; grandchildren, Jacob Edwards and Elijah High; mother, Shirley Freeman; brothers, Ronnie Freeman and wife Donna, Mike Freeman and wife Kelly; sisters, Theresa Lo Bue and husband Mike, Brenda Freeman, Lisa Freeman Dotson and Laura Freeman and husband James; mother-in-law, Ruby Selvidge; brother-in-law, Kevin Selvidge and wife Melanie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Freeman and father-in-law, Harold Selvidge.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Entombment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. A Rosary is set for Tuesday evening, June 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow from 7:45 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas.
