Daniel Stephen Tumbry, Sr., age 86, of Plano, Texas, passed away June 12, 2012, in Plano. Daniel was born January 18, 1926, in Gary, Indiana, to Nicholas and Frances (Verbancic) Tumbry. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Daniel graduated from Purdue University. Daniel was employed with the Carnation Company for thirty years as a production superintendent. After retiring early from the Carnation Company, he and Florence built a successful printing business.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Tumbry, Donna Gilbert and husband, Jim, and Tina Tumbry, all of Plano, Texas; son, Daniel Stephen Tumbry of Allen, Texas; and grandchildren, Krista Gilbert, Kyle Gilbert, Michelle Tumbry, and Rebecca Tumbry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Florence Lillian Tumbry.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. A rosary will take place on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
