Beloved son, brother and friend, Daniel Christopher Elder, age 23, of Allen , Texas passed away January 18, 2010, in Austin, Texas. He was born December 30, 1986, to Richard James and Kathy Ann Patterson Elder in Oceanside, California but spent most of his life in Allen, Texas . Childhood dreams of becoming a doctor, led Daniel to becoming a pre-med. student at UT Austin. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Kathy Elder; brother, Sean Elder; grandparents, William and Pam Elder and grandmother, Mary Ann Patterson; uncles, Michael Elder, Kyle Patterson and his wife, Shirley and Frank Patterson and his wife, Shelly; aunts, Kathleen Elder and Lynda Bender; his dog, George and cats, Newman and Kramer. Daniel was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Patterson. Daniel touched everyone he came in contact with. His gentle dimpled smile and gracious manner were contagious. He was a true and loyal friend and the best son and big brother anyone could have hoped for. His presence here will be missed beyond words but there is comfort in knowing that Daniel is where he needs to be, still serving God's purposes. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2010, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas with Father Tim Church officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 p.m., Sunday with a prayer vigil starting at 7:30 p.m.
