Cynthia Colleen Lopez of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 19, 2015 at the age of 55. She was born May 20, 1960 to Gene Spivey and Judith Glenn in Dallas, Texas. Colleen married David Lopez on December 15, 1990 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. They just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She began her teaching career at Rudder Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. Colleen went on to teach at Jasper High School in Plano, Texas where she had taught for the past fifteen years. She was known as an innovator with curriculum. Colleen had a passion for teaching and loved her students very much. She was also very artistic, well read and was known for her joyful heart. Colleen was very well loved. She attended St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.
Colleen is survived by her loving husband, David Lopez; mother, Judith Glenn Olson, both of McKinney, Texas; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Spivey.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening, January 17, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening, January 17, 2016 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
