Ms. Cynthia Jean Garvey, age 61, of Carrollton, Texas passed away December 3, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on April 8, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois to Henry Miller and Grace Evelyn (Niezgodski) Garvey. Cynthia grew up in Chicago and moved to Texas in 1979. She was employed at Sam’s Club in Addison for 18 years, working in marketing, membership, and optical departments. In addition, she was a Mary Kay consultant for many years. Cynthia loved going to the movies, enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Cynthia was very generous, and in spite of her many medical issues, she always maintained an upbeat attitude and sense of humor. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Garvey and her husband, John Williams of Springfield, Missouri and Judy Garvey and her husband, Del Fuchs of Fairview, Texas; two nephews and five great nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Grace Garvey. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas with Fr. Tim Church officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday with a rosary starting at 7:30 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
