Curtis Wayne Shaw

Curtis Wayne Shaw was born October 11, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Cecil Edward Shaw and Betty Kathryn Davis Shaw. He married Shirley Kay Bolin on May 11, 1988 in Dillon, South Carolina. He died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hwy 11 in Tom Bean, Texas at the age of 55. He was a resident of Whitewright, Texas.

Curtis was a graduate of South Garland High School. After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Army and the 82nd Airborne. He served his nation for 14 years and spent 7 months in the First Gulf War. He moved back to Texas from North Carolina in May of 2000. He drove a truck for SAIA Motors.

He is survived by wife, Shirley Shaw of Whitewright; son, Brian Flowers and Ginger of Sherman; daughter, Brandy Fetz and husband James of Van Alstyne; son, Johnny Roberson of Sherman; son, Jonathan Shaw of Dallas; daughter, Dyanna Shaw-Strickland and husband Jamie of Cumby; grandchildren, Makaila Flowers, Ruthie Fetz, Alyssa Fetz, Johnny Roberson, Dylan Roberson, Anthony Flowers, Brandon Shaw, Landon Strickland, and Payton Strickland; parents, Cecil and Betty Shaw of Whitewright; brother, Steve Graham of Sherman; sister, Dinna Graham of Kentucky; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Edward Shaw.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Whitewright. Pastor Josh Burton will officiate. Burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Tom Bean. Military Honors provided by U.S. Army, Ft. Hood, Texas. Pallbearers will be Brian Flowers, Brian Capps, Roger Capps, Kevin Graham, and James Fetz.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Curtis Shaw Memorial Fund at any Texas Star Bank location.
