Crystal Rene Salas, age 54 of McKinney, Texas passed away April 16, 2015 in McKinney, Texas. She was born July 27, 1960 in Evansville, Indiana to John H. and Frances Marie (Pemberton) Matheny. Crystal grew up in the Waterman, Illinois area where she attended school. She worked for Sam’s Wholesale Club for the last fifteen years as a receiving clerk. Crystal enjoyed working puzzles, doing crosswords, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with her grandbabies.
She is survived by her children, Brandy Gibson and fiancé Brad Ramsey of McKinney, Texas, Stephanie Gibson and partner Stephanie Ray of Princeton, Texas, Jennifer Gibson and husband James Badillo of Princeton, Texas, Christina Salas and fiancé Justin Strange of Blue Ridge, Texas and David Salas and wife Rachael of Meridian, Mississippi; father, John Matheny and wife Ruth of Exline, Iowa; mother, Frances Matheny of Carmi, Illinois; grandchildren, Brooklyn Ramsey, Brittney Ramsey, Audrey Harden, James Badillo, II and Isaiah Badillo; brothers and sisters, Robert Risely, Angela Anderson, Cynthia Anderson, Micheal Matheny and Melody Matheny; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
Crystal was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Gibson.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
