Cloretta Holmes, age 88, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on June 13, 2014. She was born August 6, 1925 in Marlin, Texas to Eugene and Luvenia Toleston. Cloretta worked at Wysong hospital for many years. She enjoyed playing dominoes and loved her family. Cloretta was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas.
She is survived by her nephew, Rev. Arthur Maxwell and wife Polly of McKinney, Texas; great-nephews, Ronald Stern and wife Ronda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Donald Stern also of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; niece, Ethel Noble of McKinney, Texas; special friend, Sister Johnson also of McKinney, Texas; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Cloretta is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Luvenia Toleston; husband, Lee Holmes; and sister, Martha Artella Toleston
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 821 Rockwall Street, McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
