Clifford R. (Ray) Warden age 75, of McKinney, Texas went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2009. He was born on June 23, 1933 in Texoma, Oklahoma, to McKinley Robert and Clara Clementine (Simmons) Warden. On November 23, 1951 he married Vernice Joyce McWaters in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was a hard working man, and put his all into whatever he was doing. He enjoyed his family, golf, guitar and loved music. Ray was a Sonic Franchisee in Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. This was an important aspect of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of McKinney. Ray was active in Bible study and enjoyed the fellowship of his church. He is survived by his wife, Vernice (Vern) J. Warden of McKinney, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Richard Ervin of Westlake, TX; grandson and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Kara Ervin of Keller, TX; granddaughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Markus Dalton of Roanoke, TX; grandson, Jared Ervin of Westlake, TX; great grandchildren, Corbin Dalton and Kaytlyn Dalton both of Roanoke, TX; Grace Ervin and Mackenna Ervin both of Keller, TX; sisters-in-law, Billie Jean Warden of Edmond, OK and Fran Warden of Lenexa, KS and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Clara Warden; son, David Ray Warden; brothers, Louis Warden and Loyd Warden. A reception will be held for the family to receive friends at the First Baptist Church “Connection” from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at First Baptist Church, McKinney, with Dr. Jeff Warren and Rev. Randy Morlan officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church Stephen Ministry.
