Clifford Harold DeFore, Jr.

Clifford (Cliff) Harold DeFore, Jr. of Plano, Texas passed away March 29, 2012.  He was born July 24, 1941 to Clifford Harold DeFore, Sr. and Helen Marie (Wiltse) in Saginaw, Michigan.  Cliff graduated from Ferris University in Michigan with a degree in Business and Computer Science.  He married Marilyn Card on November 22, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan.  Cliff began his career with General Motors where he worked for 22 years. He eventually retired as a Vice President of EDS, acquired by General Motors, after working another 14 years. Cliff was honored for his achievements in Kauai, Hawaii a few months before his retirement in 1999.

Cliff was a member of Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano where he was involved in many activities, but especially received joy serving with the Treasured Times Alzheimer’s Group.  Cliff loved spending time with his family & friends and was an avid collector and seller of sports memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn DeFore of Plano, Texas; daughter, Michelle Colombo of Allen, Texas; son, Michael DeFore and wife Margaret of Lewisville, Texas; mother, Helen DeFore of Alma, Michigan; granddaughters, Natasha Rector of Royalton, Illinois, Heather Monroe and husband Christopher of Little Elm, Texas; two great-grandsons, Kage DeFore of Twelve Mile, Indiana and Hayden Monroe of Little Elm, Texas; brothers, Ernest DeFore and wife Margaret of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Marvin DeFore and wife Becky of Detroit, Michigan and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Cliff was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Harold DeFore, Sr.; son-in-law, Norm Colombo; granddaughters, Anne Maree Colombo and Bianca Marie DeFore.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, Texas 75023. The Rev. John Richardson and The Rev. Jack Gibson officiating.

Memorials may be made to Treasured Times Alzheimer’s Group in c/o Custer Road United Methodist Church.
