Clayton Donald Utley, age 63, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away October 1, 2013. He was born January 13, 1950 to Donald and Hannah (Andersen) Utley, in Tyler, Minnesota. On November 12, 1982 Clay married Frances Ann Hay in Dallas, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Clay was a hardware engineer at Metaswitch in Richardson, Texas. He loved his country home, and was happiest on his tractor taking care of his acreage; Clay also loved planting oak trees. He enjoyed music, 1960’s rock and roll in particular, and playing his guitar. In his younger years Clay raced motocross, and later enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his sons.
He is survived by his wife Frances Utley of Van Alstyne; daughters, Carrie Newton of Caddo Mills, Texas, Cathy Drinnon of Denton, Texas and Jennifer Utley of Huntsville, Texas; sons, Michael Utley of Ogden, Utah and Jonathan Utley of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Steven Colley, Alissa Colley, Tori Graham, Lance Utley, Chase Utley, Reese Utley, Lauren Drinnon, Chai Drinnon, Elizabeth Drinnon and Seth Utley; brothers, Chuck Utley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kurt Utley of Bedford, Texas and Jim Utley of Dover, New Hampshire.
Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Hannah Utley and sister, Janice Skinner.
