Claude (Bud) Erwin Marks, Jr.

Claude (Bud) Erwin Marks, Jr., 80, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 from natural causes. Bud was born Sept. 13, 1931, to Claude Erwin Marks and Minnie Marks. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1949. He enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 where he earned the Bronze Star. After serving 20 years in the USAF, he retired as a Master Sergeant. In 1973, Bud received his Master's Degree in education from Central Missouri State University and was an Industrial Technology and CEO teacher at Grandview High School in Grandview, MO, for 24 years. Bud was an avid outdoorsman and loved to boat, hunt, and fish. He is survived by Tamara Marks, his devoted and loving wife of 34 years; son, Larry E. Marks and wife Elizabeth, of Poquoson, VA; daughters, Deborah Marks Conley of Omaha, NE, and Carrie Alice Newman and husband Charles of St. Charles, MO; step-daughter, Michelle Rae Wilschetz and husband Steven of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Alan E. Marks, Lee C. Marks, Andrew C. Newman, Preston R. Wilschetz, and Cole S. Wilschetz; and granddaughter, Allison G. Conley. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Claude E. Marks and Minnie Marks. Services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 26, at Langsford Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m., prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, TX, on Wednesday, Sept 28th, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association Midlands Chapter, 1941 South 42nd St., Suite 205, Omaha, NE 68105, in honor of his daughter's association with Midland's chapter.
