Clarence Leonard Landers

Mr. Clarence Leonard “Pockets” Landers, age 82, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 9, 2005, in McKinney. He was born October 5, 1922, in Latonia, Kentucky, to George and Ollie (Noel) Landers. On November 23, 1940, he married Mary Elizabeth Reneau in Carrollton, Texas. Mr. Landers served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked in the aircraft industry and was a member of North Baptist Church in McKinney. He is survived by his wife, Mary Landers of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Mary Beth Adkins of Fort Worth, Texas; sons, James Landers and wife, Linda of Burleson, Texas, John Landers of Princeton, Texas, and Michael Landers and wife, Pauletta of Melissa, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Louise Anderman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers, Jimmy Landers of Covington, Kentucky, and Charles Landers of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George William Landers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Chambersville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
