IN LOVING MEMORY

Clara Mae Gibson

Nov 08 1930 - Feb 02 2005

Mrs. Clara Mae Koenig Gibson, 74, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in McKinney, TX on February 2, 2005. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rev. Jack Gibson; son, Jay Gibson and wife, Ryoko; daughter, Brenda Andrews and husband Jack; grandson, Jason; and her sister, Jean Henslee. Clara was born in Shreveport on November 8, 1930 to Edgar A. and Winnie Koenig. Clara and Jack attended Byrd High School and both went to Centenary College where Clara was nominated the Centenary Beauty of 1948. They were married on May 27, 1950. Clara was a true lady. She was kind, loving, giving, thoughtful, and a faithful servant of the Lord. Although she worked outside the home, her true calling was in passing on of her faith to others. Clara loved children and was instrumental in beginning a program for teen mothers at Wesley Rankin Community Center. She was a student of the bible and taught several different Christian Believer, Sunday School, and Disciple classes. Clara touched many lives and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We rejoice in knowing Clara has joined the Lord in His heavenly home. A celebration of Clara’s life will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2005, at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road in Plano. Visitation will be from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to your local church or to the Care Force Ministries at Custer Road United Methodist Church.
